Impounded vehicle owners and leinholders will be notified by certified mail of the impoundment of their vehicle. Impounded vehicles will be subject to a towing fee, daily storage charge, and administrative fees. A paperwork processing fee may also be charged.

 All charges must be paid with cash or Visa/Mastercard Debit or Credit before vehicles will be released. 

Registered owners wishing to retrieve an impounded vehicle must present a valid drivers license and proof of insurance, and have the keys to the vehicle with them.  Only the registered owner or lienholder of a vehicle is eligible to claim it. 

Vehicles not claimed within the period allowed by Iowa state statute will be disposed of as salvage as allowed per Iowa code. Please refer to your letter for additional information.
